The Betty of the Week is Ruby Sulter, aka @rubysulter, and the founder of @bdfolifestyle! We met at the Capital for the Austin Women in Business roundtable. I was immediately impressed by Ruby’s story and her mission to have everybody feel Bold, Determined, Fierce, and Outstanding in the clothes they buy and wear. AND she’s only in high school, and I wish I had 1/10 of her entrepreneurial spirit when I was that age. Check out her website: https://bdfolifestyle.com/ and RSVP to the summer launch event; @urbanbettysalon will be doing hair, and I will be there!

Fun facts about Ruby:

✨When and where did you graduate from?

I am currently a student at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA), and this coming year will be my last year of high school.

✨What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was a lot younger. Now all I want to be is a serial entrepreneur 😛

✨Where are you from?

Born in San Francisco, I moved to Austin when I was 6.

✨What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to be outside (when it’s not over 100 degrees), hang out with my friends, and get a good workout!

✨If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be?

Telepathy! It would make like a lot easier tbh.

✨Any other fun things you would like to tell the world?

Yes! Side Hustles – I currently pick up shifts as a Starbucks Barista and work as a freelance graphic designer. The main hustle – I am the founder and CEO of my lifestyle brand on a mission to instill confidence through clothing; check it out @bdfolifestyle 🙂

✨ Feel free to share anything else fun that makes you unique. 😘

Urban Betty is the only salon that got me excited to get my hair cut; ever since going, my curly hair has completely transformed. It’s serial to be working with the founder of UB – this is crazy!

Thank you, Ruby, for your ability to be a voice to those around you about body issues, clothing, and confidence. What you are doing is essential. Never give up! #teambetty #urbanbettysalon
