OUR BETTY OF THE WEEK IS MEL OCHOA!
Mel Ochoa, aka @Sunkissedhairbymel, is the Betty of the week! She started at our flagship @urbanbettysalon location in October 2019, the same month she graduated from Baldwin Beauty School. Happy first anniversary, Mel!
When I asked Mel what she wanted to be when she grew up, she always wanted to be a hairdresser but, coming from Hispanic parents, that was not a career choice, so she pursued nursing but did not finish. I’m happy that she listened to her heart. I came from a family of nurses but chose hair instead, and it was the best decision I ever made! (but seriously, thank God for those who choose to be nurses)
Mel was born in Chicago and moved to Austin when she was 13. She loves to hang out with friends and drink Moscow Mules! 😂 Hallelujah, woman, I get so happy when I see those beautiful copper cups.
Mel is a great listener, a hard worker, and a very positive person. I think that’s why she’s been Betty of the month 3 times now! (That’s another cool thing we do inside our salon)
