OUR BETTY OF THE WEEK IS ASHLEY SOTOLONGO
Our Betty of the Week is Ashley Sotolongo, aka @ladycollective__ , founder of Lady Collective Co-Op/Vintage Shop in Austin, Texas. Ashley created Lady Collective to empower women entrepreneurs and offer a unique space for diverse vendors, each contributing to a curated shopping experience. We celebrate Ashley’s dedication, hard work, and industry innovation.
✨ Background
I transitioned from pre-med to dog training in LA, then launched a traveling plant trailer, which led to establishing Lady Collective, an all-women’s multi-vendor store. I’m grateful for the confidence to pursue new passions.
✨ Childhood Aspirations
I struggled to choose a major, torn between being a doctor or a hairdresser. I always felt destined to be a trailblazer, ultimately seeking happiness and sharing it with others.
✨ Hometown
Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, I spent my 20s in Los Angeles and now call Austin, Texas, home.
✨ Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy nature, spending time by the water with my shop dog, Nava, connecting with friends, exploring new restaurants, being spontaneous, reading self-help books, and attending laughter-filled events. Mondays are my recharge days, dedicated to resetting.
✨ Superpower Wish
If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to fly. As a free spirit, I love new perspectives and scenery changes, plus flying would help me snag rare vintage pieces quickly!
✨ Unique Traits
I’ve embraced being the main character in my story, aiming to help others reach their highest potential. I reject imposter syndrome and empower others to grow while keeping a sense of humor about life’s challenges.
