OUR BETTY OF THE WEEK IS JESS MINDRUP!
Our Betty of the Week is Jess Mindrup, aka @jessatxhair!
Jess started in June at our @urbanbettysalon SoCo location, working front desk until she fully licensed, and then she started our associate program in July.
Jess went to the Paul Mitchell Academy in Arlington in January 2018 and finished at the Austin Paul Mitchell Academy in June of 2020! She took a year and a half long break after moving to Austin to get settled.
At an early age, Jess always wanted to be a doctor/nurse of some sort, she would use her mom’s ironing board as her “gurney” and a teddy bear as her patient, and she would perform procedures on them. (I love this!) Jess truly always knew that she would do hair, or at least be in the beauty field. She was the neighborhood hairstylist at 14! That’s what I call a real passion.
Jess grew up in Mansfield, TX, moved to Fort Worth for a couple of years, and finally, two years ago, ended up in Austin! Jess LOVES color! Specifically, live in color and blondes! Lately, she has been doing a lot of “going darker” and fall colors.
“Being so new to the industry, I’m so open to all colors.”
Fun facts about Jess:
- I’m very intuitive and empathetic towards others. I love making those around me laugh and smile!
- I love photography, and just started doing film photography!
- Urban betty was the first salon I visited when I moved to Austin 2 years ago! So happy to be a part of this team
