OUR BETTY OF THE WEEK IS AMY SINCLAIR!

The Betty of the Week is Amy Sinclair, aka @amysinclair65, and she is the owner of @cobaltbluesalon! We have run into one another in many different circumstances throughout BOTH of our careers and usually found ourselves on a parallel strategic business platform. Amy was a great mentor to me early in my salon ownership career. She helped me in more ways than she’ll ever know and introduced me to the @summitsalon systems, which forever changed my life. Every time I run into her beautiful smiling face, I know I’m in the right place.

Amy is originally from Ohio and considers herself a Texan now. She graduated from Clear Lake high school & San Jacinto Cosmetology School. The one thing she knew in her heart and soul was that she couldn’t be a person at a desk from nine to five.

Fun facts about Amy:

✨What did you want to be when you grew up?

I loved cosmetology school, but with my dad being a successful realtor, I contemplated my passion for both and ended up choosing the salon industry! I have never regretted or looked back. I’m so lucky I get to do what I love everyday.

✨If you could be a superhero, what would your special power be?

I find in these times, everyone could use more joy in their lives. When you’re happy, you’re healthier mentally and physically, and you radiate that positive energy into the universe. My superpower would be creating joy!

✨Tell me something you are passionate about.

I am very passionate about my annual fundraiser, “The Cut for the Cure,” in memory of my partner, Theresa Eller, who died of Leukemia in 2012. It can be a silent killer. Theresa was My Thelma in our Thelma and Louise! We do a cut-a-thon, blood drive, and auction each year to help publicize awareness of Leukemia and encourage more people to be “a match” to someone in need.

✨What makes you unique?

Unique is not a word that I embrace easily… it took some thought… I think I’m always the person who sees the glass half full, who always believes in the best in people. My joy comes from being with friends and family. Sitting on my front porch by the lake. And listening to some damn good Tom Petty song because I’m his biggest fan. #teambetty #urbanbettysalon #urbanbetty
