BETTY OF THE WEEK, APRIL KAYGANICH!
Written by Mandy Carlos, Marketing Director at Urban Betty
We’re throwing it back this week and recognizing the beauty and inspiration that is April, a former, but forever, Betty!
April began her journey with Urban Betty as a front desk receptionist in May of 2012. After graduating from the Avenue Five Institute in 2014, she worked as an associate for Chelle Neff before branching out on her own and leaving the nest in the fall of 2016, eventually forming her own company called The Curl Whisperer.
She is an incredible talent, and we feel blessed to have known her for eight years now.
INTERVIEW WITH OUR FOUNDER CHELLE NEFF
Chelle: What did you want to be when you grew up?
April: I wanted to be a hairstylist, fine artist (painter), doctor, lawyer, and famous singer! I wanted to be all of them, haha!
C: Where are you from?
A: I was born in LA but grew up in a suburb of Detroit.
C: What do you like to do?
A: I love to cook vegan food, read, draw, paint, skate, ride my bike and travel.
C: What are your strengths?
A: I am a hard worker, hold myself accountable, have a sense of urgency, a sense of humor, and people can count on me.
C: Any side hustles?
A: I work with @hairstorystudio quite a bit. I love their message and how they support hairstylists.
“Thank you, April, for what you do in the world of curls, hair, and humans! Your smile and laugh are infectious, and you bring light to everyone around you. Can’t wait to have you come teach a class at UB!” – Chelle Neff
