MONICA SAVIGNANI IS OUR BETTY OF THE WEEK!

Monica Savignani, aka @manes.by.monica, is our Betty of the Week! Monica started at our SoCo @urbanbettysalon location in May of 2019 and graduated from the Aveda Institute Chicago in 2013.

She always wished that she could be Anthony Bourdain when she grew up. She’s 27, and so far, no TV channels have reached out because they’re dying to have her host a food/travel show for them. This makes so much sense because Monica loves to travel and can’t wait to start traveling again. Mexico City, Western Spain/Portugal, and Central Italy (where her grandparents are from) are at the top of her list. Same Monica same, I would love a TV show and to be able to travel again! #teambetty

Monica grew up on a farm outside of the Chicago suburbs but lived in Chicago the last 4 years before moving to Austin. Her specialties in the world of hair are to create looks that enhance her guest’s natural beauty. Monica likes soft & subtle “pretty hair.” Sun-kissed balayage, natural coppers, & rich brunettes. She is extremely detailed (sometimes too much so 😂). Aside from color, she also does killer haircuts. Monica loves a cut that’s a challenge, short pixies, shags, precise bobs, curly hair, men’s cuts, etc. Woo hoo! Such an asset to our salon company!

When I asked Monica about her favorite things to do outside of doing hair she said, “I’ve always loved cooking & baking. I essentially grew up living farm to table (before it was trendy). My Italian grandparents shared the farm with us. We always had a huge vegetable garden, fruit trees, and meat from our own animals (who lived quite a posh life). So I’m a spoiled brat about good quality food! I regularly host extravagant dinners for my friends. I’ve been getting into decorating cakes more recently, and I’m thinking about starting a food/baking blog. Check out @monica_savig for cakes, cooking, and my cute pup… mostly my cute pup!”
