The Betty of the Week is Tiffanie Whitt, aka @beauty_brained. She is the founder of @reveriehairco! She is from Raleigh, NC, and we met at the @highperformancesalon academy. A little more about Tiffanie:

✨You are a leader in the salon industry. Share your background.

I became a mom very young and knew I needed the plan to start a career that could provide for my family. So, I signed up for cosmetology school! I’ve been in the beauty industry for 14 years and a salon owner for the last two and a half years. I decided to open a salon after my experiences working at both a commission salon and renting a suite. I felt that my local community was missing something that combines rental flexibility with the ease of commission in a supportive, team environment. The beauty industry has many gifts to offer people from

any walk of life. It’s important to me to empower

women in our industry while raising the perception of the beauty industry as a whole.

✨What did you want to be when you grew up? The funny thing, I wanted to be a physical therapist. I wanted to help people, and being a doctor seemed like the best way to do that, but I didn’t want to deal with blood, so I thought physical therapy would be a loophole. I’ve found a way, through salon ownership, to help people without a medical degree!

✨What do you like to do outside of work?

I love doing anything with my husband and kids. I also love to be outside. Hikes or going for walks always puts me in the best headspace!
