Urban Betty now offers Brazilian Blowout treatments at their 38th Street and Round Rock locations. Their stylists are certified in the technique to deliver smoother, shinier, and manageable hair that lasts. The treatment is customizable based on how sleek or textured you want your finish to be.

Typical results last about 3–4 months with proper care.

What to Expect in the Appointment

    Consultation – Discuss your hair type, history (color, damage), and desired outcome.

    Pre-wash – Your hair is thoroughly washed to remove buildup and prepare cuticles.

    Solution Application – A keratin-based smoothing formula (typically containing formaldehyde or a releasing compound) is applied from roots to ends.

    Blow-drying + Flat-ironing – The hair is blow-dried and flat-ironed (often heated to around 450°F) to bond the solution.

    Rinse & Seal– The solution is rinsed out before a sealer is applied.
  • 6
    Final Blow‑dry – Your stylist finishes by drying and styling the hair.

Estimated duration is 1–2 hours, possibly up to 3 hours for thick or long hair.

Ongoing Care

Do:

  • Use sulfate-free and chlorine-free shampoos and conditioners to extend the longevity of your treatment.
  • Deep-condition weekly or every other week to hydrate treated hair—especially important because the treatment can be drying.

Don’t:

  • Avoid using shampoos with sulfates or harsh detergents, as they can strip the keratin coating.
