Discontinue the use of topical prescriptions or products containing Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin A.
Avoid excessive sun exposure.
DO NOT receive Botox or Fillers as injection sites may be sensitized during peel application.
DO NOT wax, receive laser hair removal or electrolysis, or use depilatory creams.
Day of Chemical Peel service
Your UB Skin Esthetician will apply sunscreen post service. Our Sorella Apothecary products are meant to be left on the skin for at least 4-6 hours after treatment.
DO NOT use any exfoliation products (Vitamin A, Alpha-hydroxy Acids, Beta-Hydroxy Acids, Benzoyl Peroxide)
DO NOT shave your face the day of your peel or the day after.
It is recommended (but not mandatory) to avoid makeup application the day of treatment to allow skin to normalize.
Days 2-14 (or until your skin is fully healed)
Cleanse, Moisturize, and protect your skin with Sorella Apothecary post-peel products suggested by your UB Skin Esthetician.
Keep your skin CLEAN, COOL, and CALM by cleansing 2-4 times daily, pat your skin dry (DO NOT RUB), and avoid hot showers/baths.
Avoid sun exposure. The fresh layer of skin is susceptible to sunburn, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines.
Apply SPF every 2-4 hours.
Avoid excessive perspiration.
Avoid exfoliation. This includes loofahs, washcloths, or rough use of towels.
DO NOT PICK. Allow the skin to fall off naturally to avoid hyperpigmentation.
DO NOT WAX until your skin is fully healed.
Treat skin delicately using only products recommended to you by your UB Skin Esthetician.
Dermaplane-
One Week Prior to Dermaplaning
Start using Sorella Apothecary products recommended by your UB Skin Esthetician to maximize your results.
Discontinue the use of topical prescriptions or products containing Retinol, Retin-A, and Vitamin A.
DO NOT receive Botox or Fillers, as injection sites may be sensitized during Dermaplane exfoliation.
Day of Dermaplaning Service
Your UB Skin Esthetician will apply sunscreen post-service. Our Sorella Apothecary products are meant to be left on the skin for at least 4-6 hours after treatment.
It is recommended (but not mandatory) to avoid makeup application on the day of treatment to allow the skin to normalize. Makeup can irritate the skin after dermaplaning. Bacteria, alcohols, colorants, and fragrances are all irritants that can cause contact dermatitis. Be sure to clean your makeup brushes, replace your sponges, and apply clean, new makeup to minimize risks. We recommend mineral makeup for its purity and non-comedogenic properties.
Days 1-7
Use a gentle cleanser recommended to you by your UB Skin Esthetician. Cleanse with warm, not hot, water by just lightly splashing water on face.
DO NOT use abrasive cleansers, wash cloths, or a scrubbing tool for the first 48 hours.
DO NOT use any exfoliation products (Vitamin A, Alpha-hydroxy Acids, Beta-Hydroxy Acids, Benzoyl Peroxide)
Ask your esthetician for recommendations on serums to use post treatment. Active ingredients in serum penetrate better now. Please do not use Retin-A for at least 5-7 days post dermaplane. For darker skin tones, use a brightening serum to reduce any risk of PIH.
Moisturize twice daily. Your skin may feel tight but dewy to the touch.
Apply SPF every 2-4 hours. Your skin is more vulnerable to UV rays after exfoliation.
Wait 7 days before having any waxing done. Waxing may be done prior to dermaplaning. Your esthetician will not dermaplane over the waxed areas.
Microdermabrasion-
One Week Prior to Microdermabrasion
Start the use of Sorella Apothecary products recommended by your UB Skin Esthetician in order to maximize your results.
Discontinue the use of topical prescriptions or products containing Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin A.
DO NOT receive Botox or Fillers as injection sites may be sensitized during microdermabrasion treatment.

DO NOT use abrasive cleansers, wash cloths, or a scrubbing tool for the first 48 hours.
DO NOT use any exfoliation products (Vitamin A, Alpha-hydroxy Acids, Beta-Hydroxy Acids, Benzoyl Peroxide)
DO NOT pick at your skin. While there is little to no down-time with this treatment, there may be visible cellular regeneration (flaky skin).
Avoid excessive sun exposure.
Apply SPF every 2-4 hours. Your skin is more vulnerable to UV rays after exfoliation.
Moisturize twice daily and hydrate!
Microblading-
Immediately following your procedure
Your new brows will appear to be darker, bolder in color and shape, and more sharply defined. You may feel that your brows are too dark and thick. Over the next 2-3 days, your brows will appear even darker and thicker as the ink on the surface dries up and flakes begin to form. Let the flakes naturally fall off.
Do not pick or peel. It may take up to 14 days for flaking of the brows to be over.
Following the aftercare steps will decrease the flaking process (it’s normal to not get them at all!). Your brows will become lighter in color, thinner in shape and more natural looking as healing progresses. Patience is key!
You may NOT get the area wet or apply any kind of products (except for the recommended ointment) for at least 10 days after the procedure.
NO makeup on the area for at least 2 weeks.
NO direct sun exposure until your brows are fully healed after at least 28 days (it is recommended to use sunscreen to protect them).
Day 1
For the first 24 hours lightly wipe brows with a clean cotton swab dipped in distilled water, and finish up by applying a light layer of aquaphor with a clean cotton swab.
Do not rub or manipulate the skin - pressure should be light. Do this every hour for the first 24 hours - aside from while asleep. When asleep, it is best to sleep on your back to avoid pressure on the brows.
Avoid direct shower pressure, makeup, facial cleansers and products, sweat, direct sunlight.
Days 2-9
Twice daily (am and pm) you will lightly wipe brows with a clean cotton swab dipped in distilled water, and finish up by applying a light layer of aquaphor with a clean cotton swab.
Do not rub or manipulate the skin - pressure should be light. Your brows will most likely start to appear dark and sharp at this point - they will fade!
Avoid direct shower pressure, makeup, facial cleansers and products, sweat, direct sunlight. AVOID Exercise and sweating.
AVOID Exfoliants.
Discontinue the use of topical prescriptions or products containing Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin A.
AVOID Direct Sunlight and heat sources.
AVOID Swimming, taking baths, direct water contact and saturating the brows.
AVOID smoking.
Day 10
You may begin to exercise again.
You may start to experience flaking, itching or even scabbing - this is normal. To ease any discomfort you can apply a thin layer of aquaphor.
Do NOT pick scabs.
Day 14-28
You may swim.
You may wash your face with cleanser and apply makeup.
Please continue to avoid applying any exfoliants.
Discontinue the use of topical prescriptions or products containing Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin A as it will fade pigment.
